It's FINALLY here! After weeks of changing my plot over and over again, the day has snuck up on me and I'm stuck plotting at noon today. I think I've decided on a solid plot at last. Still the same characters, just with different names and a tweaked plot. Still in France (for the most part) and still in the near future. I'm actually pretty excited. I heart my main character. She's such a female dog.

So yeah, now it all begins and I will probably be posting here more often.

Oh, and also, I've passed the first checkpoint! 1667 words!! Well, actually now it's more like 1819 words. But whatever. I'm aiming for at least 2000 words a day, though, because I've got to finish my short story for the Writer's Digest and I don't want to be behind in my word count because of that. Wish me luck!

And good luck to all you other NaNoers out there!

P.S. I decided, since it's started now, I would do a current plot teaser instead of just hints about what the plot is. So, so far...
Martine made the list. She can now prove herself.

This waiting is agonizing! I forgot about how looooong October feels when you're doing NaNo. I really want to start my story right now because I'm afraid thinking about it so much isn't good for its health! *strokes story possessively*

So yeah, I was thinking about starting to actually write down my plans for the novel. I downloaded Liquid Story Binder again (which is THE awesomest freeware a writer can get, especially at NaNo time) for this year, and I've got the workspace set up and everything. I've also started making a soundtrack for it! Anyway, I'm a little scared, though, to start outlining in writing because I did that for every single one of my NaNo ideas last year and I lose excitement for all of them. Well, maybe not ALL of them, but still. I gave up on those ideas, even the one I actually wrote (I didn't win last year, if you were wondering). I dunno. Do you think I should outline in writing or just keep it in my head until NaNo comes around??

That's all for today's entry.

Actually wait. If anyone is actually reading this, please NaNoMail me or leave a comment letting me know if you're in need of a plot because I have a couple I'm willing to give away.

Okay, now that's all.

P.S. <lj:music>A random song from and Indian movie called Dor</lj:music>
So I've completely redone my LJ (which I neglected for like two years) and I've got it all set up and ready for NaNo 2009! I'm super determined to finish it this year (it's my second year doing it). This blog will just be a place for me to organize, plan out, and discuss my NaNo novel. And, perhaps, include some other random stuffies (like I really love my homecoming dress.) Anyway.

I suppose now would be the time I explain my novel for this year. Too bad, I'm not. I'm a bit superstitious about this sort of stuff and I don't want to give my novel too much exposure before I start. It might get scared and run away. Expect more info on the info when it gets closer to November, like the last week of October. I don't exactly have the whole thing planned yet, but it's starting to come together now.

But what the deuce, I suppose if anyone's really interested, I can post little teasers about the plot in each entry. That'll come at the end.

So anyway, I guess I'll just close out this little welcome entry with a list I like to call:

Five Books to Read While Waiting for NaNo to Start:
1) Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater

2) Ice by Sarah Beth Durst

3) Atonement by Ian McEwan

4) Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

5) The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

So that's it. To anyone who's actually reading this, catch you later!

--Cammie

P.S. You can find me on the NaNo site as Cammie4. I'm on the site almost every day, so drop a message if you'd like!

P.P.S. You thought I forgot about the plot teaser, didn't you? Probably not, but whatever. Teehee! Anyway, here's the "teaser":
France, a few years in the future
